Mike KingMike King B.V.Sc, MRCVS

Mike King qualified from Bristol Veterinary School in 1978 and joined the practice that same year, becoming a partner in 1983. Initially involved in all aspects of mixed practice, Mike has concentrated on equine medicine and surgery due to the greatly increasing equine caseload over the last decade.

Mike is a past president of the South Wales British Veterinary Association, a member of the British Equine Association and has been on the panel of the Riding School Inspectorate for over twenty years. His areas of interest are in equine reproduction including artificial insemination, foal care and general medicine.

Huw DaveyHuw Davey B.Vet.Med. MRCVS

Huw Davey was a pupil at Bridgend Boys' Grammar School and attended the Royal Veterinary College in London, qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 1980. He returned to Bridgend in 1982, and became a partner in the practice in 1984.

Huw has retained his interest in all areas of the practice. Within the partnership, his particular area of expertise is large animal medicine. He is a member of the British Cattle Veterinary Association, and is contracted to the Defra emergency contingency team for national disease outbreaks.

Phil GeddesPhilip Geddes B.V.Sc. MRCVS

Phil was raised and educated in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, gaining a veterinary degree at the University of Zimbabwe in 1987. He worked in a predominantly cattle and equine practice in the Eastern part of Zimbabwe before taking time out to visit India, Nepal and Pakistan. He arrived in the UK very much lighter in weight and finances. Job hunting for a mixed practice brought him to Bridgend in October 1992.

Phil is still interested in mixed practice although small animal work takes up most of his time today. Based at the main branch in Bridgend, he is a member of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and gained a Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University in 2003.

Karen DaviesKaren Davies B.V.Sc. MRCVS

Karen qualified from the University of Bristol in 1990 and, apart from a 12 month period 'Down Under', has worked at the practice ever since. She has spent many years working with farm animals and horses, but since opening the Llantrisant branch in 2001, more of her time is now taken up looking after the smaller companion animals.

Karen enjoys surgery, ophthalmology and has a special interest in canine reproduction. She is also able to use accupuncture where appropriate. Karen has been involved with the regional British Veterinary Association for some years and is currently president of the South Wales division.
